StormPrepared respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the StormPrepared mobile application may access, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

StormPrepared is a hurricane preparedness and storm-information tool. It helps users monitor active storms, understand potential impacts, create preparedness checklists, organize plans, review educational guidance, and explore recommended emergency supplies.

Information You Provide

You may enter information into StormPrepared, including:

• Preparedness checklists and checklist items
• Task completion status
• Names and roles assigned to checklist tasks
• Household or team group names
• Personal storm-plan information
• Notes and other information you choose to save

This information is stored locally on your device using Apple-provided storage technologies. The current version of StormPrepared does not require an account and does not upload this information to a StormPrepared-operated server.

Deleting the app may delete locally stored information unless it is preserved through an Apple device backup or another Apple-provided service.

Location Information

With your permission, StormPrepared may access your device location to:

• Display your general location
• Calculate the approximate distance between you and an active storm
• Sort storms based on their potential relevance to your location
• Present location-aware storm information
• Display your position in map-based storm views

Location access is optional. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time through the Settings application on your device.

StormPrepared does not sell your location information. The current version does not continuously track your location in the background or upload your location to a StormPrepared-operated server.

Apple location and MapKit services may process location-related requests according to Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.

Storm and Weather Information

StormPrepared retrieves publicly available storm and forecast information from sources that may include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Hurricane Center.

Network requests may transmit standard technical information such as an Internet Protocol address, device networking information, request time, and the requested resource. This information is handled by the applicable data provider and network services according to their respective privacy practices.

StormPrepared does not control the accuracy, availability, retention, or privacy practices of third-party weather-data providers.

Product Images and External Links

The Supplies section may display product information, recommendations, images, or links obtained from external websites or services. Loading externally hosted images may allow the image provider to receive standard network information, such as your Internet Protocol address and information needed to deliver the image.

If you select an external product, publisher, support, or informational link, you may leave StormPrepared and enter a third-party website or application. Those third parties may collect information under their own privacy policies and terms.

StormPrepared is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, security, pricing, availability, or transactions of external websites or services.

Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The current release of StormPrepared does not intentionally collect or maintain the following on a StormPrepared-operated server:

• User accounts or passwords
• Payment card information
• Government identification numbers
• Health or medical records
• Precise location histories
• Address books or contact lists
• Photos, videos, or audio recordings
• Private checklist or planning information

The current release does not include developer-operated advertising, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising systems.

Apple Services

StormPrepared is distributed through Apple’s App Store and uses Apple platform services. Apple may independently process information associated with downloading, installing, updating, backing up, or using the application.

Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and agreements. StormPrepared does not receive your complete Apple Account credentials or payment-card information.

How Information Is Used

Information accessed by StormPrepared is used to:

• Provide the application’s storm-monitoring and preparedness features
• Calculate storm distance and location relevance
• Display maps, forecast information, and storm details
• Save and manage your checklists and plans
• Present guide and supply content
• Diagnose technical problems when you contact support
• Maintain the security and reliability of the application

Information Sharing

StormPrepared does not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by Apple or external content providers when necessary to provide maps, location services, weather data, hosted images, App Store distribution, or links you choose to open.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, our rights, or the security of the application.

Data Retention and Deletion

Checklist, planning, and assignment information is generally retained locally until you delete the applicable content or remove the application.

You can delete individual checklists, plans, people, and other locally stored content using the controls provided in the application.

You can remove the application and its locally stored information through your device. Information retained in an Apple device backup is managed through your Apple backup and account settings.

Because the current release does not use StormPrepared user accounts or maintain user-created checklist information on a StormPrepared-operated server, there is generally no separate server account or associated checklist data for us to delete.

If you contact support, we may retain your message and contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us.

Your Privacy Choices

You may:

• Allow or deny location access
• Change application permissions through device Settings
• Delete locally saved content within the application
• Remove the application and its locally stored data
• Choose whether to open external websites or product links
• Contact us with privacy questions or deletion requests concerning information you directly provided to support

Children’s Privacy

StormPrepared is designed as a general preparedness tool and is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a StormPrepared-operated account or server.

If you believe a child has directly provided personal information to us through a support request, please contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.

Data Security

We use reasonable measures intended to protect information handled by the application. However, no device, storage system, network connection, or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for your device, Apple Account, backups, and any sensitive information you choose to enter into the application.

Weather and Emergency Disclaimer

StormPrepared is an educational and preparedness-support tool. It is not an official emergency alert service, forecasting authority, evacuation authority, or substitute for instructions from government and public-safety agencies.

Storm information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or subject to revision. Always consult official sources, including NOAA, the National Hurricane Center, local emergency management, law enforcement, and other public-safety authorities. Follow all evacuation orders and emergency instructions.

StormPrepared is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by NOAA or the National Hurricane Center.

International Users

StormPrepared is operated from the United States. If you use the application from another country or region, your use may involve services operated in or from the United States and other jurisdictions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as StormPrepared changes or as legal and operational requirements evolve. The revised policy will display a new effective date.

Material changes may also be communicated through the application, its App Store listing, or our website when appropriate.
